Some say all you have to do is look at the prices of golf products to discover that golf is an elitist and exclusive sport. There is no disputing the fact that golf equipment and apparel can be quite expensive. As a matter of fact, the apparel and equipment for golf is much costlier than it is for any other sport.
However, golf products are not expensive simply for the purpose of being expensive. Rather, they are expensive because they are often made of expensive materials. Also, there is quite a bit of physics and science design going into modern golf equipment.
The best example of this is a good driver. Anyone who has purchased a good driver knows they are not cheap, but that they are worth the money for the difference they make. A lot of work and effort goes into making these clubs. Not only do the golf club manufacturers spend a lot of time trying to ensure clubs are made to proper specifications, but they also are competing against other golf club makers.
This can be expensive for researchers because they research everything from how a slice or a hook in your swing would affect your club to how hard an angry golfer could beat his driver on the ground before it reaches its breaking point.
This example only deals with drivers, but there are similar things that go on with many different kinds of golf products. Using the Web to do a little research about golf products is a good idea if you want to get the most bang for your buck and understand your equipment.
